How come I didn't sweat before?

ok through the years I haven't sweated much even on the hottest days, but now i'm sweating really bad. mom says when you sweat it cleanses your body some how. idk. but I think its weird how when i exercised before for hours i wouldn't sweat but now i'm sweating like a pig. what could cause me not to sweat?
