In your opinion, why should i bother voting if my vote is just going to waste (more inside)?

I understand how you feel. I live in a conservative part of California. Here in San Diego it's mostly conservative republican. But because we live in a liberal state run by liberals and consisting of mostly liberal voters in low income / high population areas like LA and SF, our 35 electoral votes go to democratic candidates promising the most hand outs. So in my case, I always feel like my vote is wasted........
