What...about tradesman during the early 19th century?

The South had a loathing for these people because the South was agricultural for the most part and most manufacturing in the South was ociated. Northern business men influenced the government to make it mandatory for Southern products be sold to northern businesses or suffer extreme tariffs if their products were sent to France or Great Brittan thus the cause for the War of Northern Aggression. Due to the corrupt northern government Southern people were forced to sell at the lowest prices causing them to barely make a living. France and Great Brittan desperately wanted Southern goods and paid well for them. The north could not let that happen.
